Free download manager for Windows, macOS and Linux
Split each file across parallel connections, resume after an interruption, and pick video or audio quality from your browser. Torrents, cloud links and queues in one app. Free and open source. No ads. No accounts.
Parallel connections for every file
GrabLine splits a download into segments and fetches them together (up to 32 connections). Idle connections take work from slow ones. Progress is saved to disk so jobs can resume after a crash or restart.
- Parallel downloads. Use the defaults, or set connection count, proxies and speed limits.
- Resume. Unfinished jobs continue from the last saved progress.
- Live dashboard. Current, average and peak speed, ETA, and per connection activity.
Choose quality before you download
Hover media in the browser, or paste a URL. GrabLine lists resolutions, audio only (MP3, M4A, FLAC), subtitles, chapters, SponsorBlock and trim. Powered by yt dlp on 1000+ sites.
- Simple. Pick Best or 1080p and download.
- Detailed. Set resolution, codec, subtitles and clip start/end.
Named queues, quiet hours, and order
Split work into queues such as Movies or Games. Cap how many run at once, limit downloads to a time window, auto-sort by category, and make one queue wait until another finishes.
- Schedules. Only between set hours, useful for overnight batches.
- Dependencies. Wait for another queue so large jobs do not fight for bandwidth.
- Per-queue limits. Use the global cap, or pick how many downloads run at once.
More than HTTP downloads
Magnets, cloud shares, remote servers, schedules and speed limits in the same app.

Install GrabLine
Packaged builds include everything you need. No separate Python install required.
Builds are unsigned, so the OS may ask for confirmation once. On Windows choose More info then Run anyway. On macOS right click then Open. On Linux without FUSE, use the tar.gz. See the install guide · Firefox add on
GrabLine stays free. Tips keep it moving.
No ads, no accounts, no telemetry. The app is built in spare time. If GrabLine helps you download faster or with less hassle, a coffee on Ko-fi really helps keep updates coming.
What GrabLine does not do
No DRM bypass
Protected services such as Netflix, Prime, Disney+ and Spotify are not supported. GrabLine does not remove DRM.
Local sessions only
Optional “use my browser session” reads cookies on your machine for your downloads. They are not uploaded.
No tracking
No ads. No accounts. Downloads go to the sites you choose. The only outbound maintenance call is an optional GitHub update check.
Frequently asked questions
How is it different from IDM?
Both use parallel connections and a browser button. GrabLine is open source, runs on Windows, macOS and Linux, and includes video, audio, torrents, cloud and archives in one app. It does not send usage data to us.
Which browsers are supported?
Firefox has a signed add on. Chrome, Edge and Brave pair from Browser Setup in the app. Without an extension, paste the URL into GrabLine. Hand off uses a local pipe, not a network port.
Where are my files and settings stored?
Downloads go to the folder you choose. Settings and the job database stay in the normal app data directory on your computer. Browser session cookies, if used, never leave your disk.
Is GrabLine free?
Yes. AGPL 3.0, no paid tier and no trial. Source is on GitHub if you want to build it yourself. It is built in spare time with no ads and no telemetry. If GrabLine helps you, a coffee on Ko-fi goes a long way.
